PERSONAL 1. Passion The richest people of all time achieved success because they were passionate about what they set out to acheive. For example, Bill Gates was passionate about his vision of having "a computer on every desk and in every home. His passion allowed him to become one of the wealthiest people in the world. 2. Visualization Identify what it is that you would like to achieve. Perhaps it's a new home, a new car, or a yacht. Make it something that is tangible! Really get into the feeling of having it in the present tense. Then, open you mind to receive it as if you expected it to be once it arrives. 3. Purpose (determination) Without "Purpose" one can easily be led astray from the path that he/she is on. When you are working with purpose, no obstacle can keep you from reaching your goal. In fact, the obstacle becomes 1 of 2 things.... either and insignificant event, or an opportunity to succeed. 4. Commitment Committing to your goals and staying on course to reach them is probably the single most important thing you can do. Without commitment everything else in the cycle will fall out of motion. 5. Faith You must have an unwavering faith that you WILL accomplish what you have set out to achieve. It is a knowing that you are on the right path, and by staying on the path, you cannot help to achieve success. 6. Personal Development As you work on yourself and gain new skills, you become proficient and efficient, which is then coupled with the confidence you require to achieve your goals. Suddenly, you know who you are, the values you represent, and the values which you can provide to others.

BUSINESS 1. Income Producing Activities Always keep in mind that business does not work for "US". "We" have to work for the business. We can only expect compensation when our work efforts are in alignment with what we are expecting. Take time each day in some form of action to set the financial process in motion. 2. Mastermind With Business Partners and Other Leaders. Through these sessions, you will learn new ideas that can expand business growth. This can be done via, training calls, training events, or national and international conferences. This process is otherwise known as "The Law Of Association." By masterminding with other leaders and self-made millionaires, there a good chance that you will learn the steps that you'll require to match the results. 3. Cultivate Leadership Expect others to step into leadership positions. You cannot force someone to achieve success. There will come a time when every human being has the desire to step into their own personal greatness. When that time comes, the individual will take personal responsibility for what they set out to acheive, and will be like a locomotive with a destination. I personally expect every person who I work to step into their own personal greatness in day 1 of opening their business. Anything less is just a hobby. 4. Be Consistent Find a daily method of operation that works and stick with it. Do not get distracted by external sources or guidance that will take you away from your business responsibilities. Set a time each day that you will dedicate to your business activities, and do not entertain interruptions. Unless there is an emergency at hand, take care of non-business activities during non-business hours. 5. Be Persistant Stay focused! Do not let up, and only make decisions that will bring you closer to your goal. As long as you are persistent at achieving the results you desire, you will not fail. Through this persistance and drive you will be very careful with the decisions you make and will not let outside forces keep you in the rut that you so much desire to get out of. 6. Set A Goal Without a goal, you have no destination. In fact, it then becomes just a wish for better things to come. So, decide what it is that you want, and set a date as to when you would like to achieve it. Expect to reach this goal, almost to the point that if you do not achieve it, then something catastrophic will happen.

MINDSET 1. Others First-Always Without Exception There are 3 reasons people are really looking to start their own business........ a. People want more time freedom to do the things they love. Whether it's spending more time with their wife and children, or just doing more of the things they love, but cannot seem to find the time because of their demanding hours at their place of employment. b. Something has come up in their life whereas their current income is not sufficient to cover the expenses. Perhaps, it's a house, a new car, college tuition for their chidren, retirement or some other factor that causes people to seek additional sources of income. Perhaps they are tired of working more hours for their employer and getting less pay as each year goes by. c. Quite possibly, most people are seeking to live a meaningful, fullfilling, and exhillerating life that cannot be achieved while working for an employer. People are seeking a way to really "LIVE LIFE" before they die. To live the way life is intended, and perhaps to leave behind a legacy through their accomplishments. Whatever the reason may be. Understand that we are here to assist people and provide them with a solution to their problem. 2. Be In Service To Others As we work on ourselves through personal development, we are enhancing our own knowledge and skills. Each day we are getting better, and better. As we approach the crest of the hill, it is our responsibility to give back all that we have learned to the other who are on the same path with us. Provide your customers and business partners with more "use value" than the "cash value" you are receiving from them. One of the most important things to keep in mind is this..... It does not matter who gets to the top of the mountain first. What matters most is how many people we take to the top of the mountain with us. This is the "true" definition of LEADERSHIP! Apply these principles, and you WILL prosper.

The first thing that needs to be discussed is the mindset required as an entrepreneur. By making the decision to become and independent business owner, you are doing doing exactly that. You are leaving the cow pasture and entering the jungle on your own. You no longer have an employer to guide you, tell you what to do, and ensure you are doing things the right way to ensure a profitable business. As an entrepreneur, YOU are the business owner, you are the employer of YOU, and you are now the CEO of your own life. That being said, it is your responsibility to grow your business by learning the skills necessary to make it happen. What most first time business owners fail to recognize it that the business doesn't work for us. In other words, you cannot expect to place a website on the internet and streams of money will flood into your bank account. It simply does not work this way. We, as business owners, make the business work in order to achieve the results that we desire.

1. Success Starts In The Mind- Know who you are, what you are looking to achieve, and how you will get there. Have 100% belief in yourself and the product or service that you are promoting. Be 100% commited to yourself and to your goal/s. Anything short of this is only a wish for better things to come.

2. Self Development- Believe in yourself AND Believe you WILL succeed. Any doubt or limiting beliefs that are in your mind must be eliminated. A negative and a positive thought cannot take up residence in your mind at the same time. You must remove any negative thoughts and fill your mind with thoughts that will move you closer to your goals.

3. Be The Leader People Want To Follow- If you have an unhealthy self-image of yourself, then others will see that as well. If you don't see yourself as a leader, then no one else will either. Take the actions to learn the answers to the well worn stumbling blocks that keep people from reaching their goals. Find someone who has the knowledge and learn from them. Do as they do, and you will know how to lead others. Before you can lead others, you must know how to follow. Leave your ego aside and realize where your best thinking has brought you. Don't be afraid to place your trust in those that have come before you. realize that your glass is always half full.

4. Serve Others- People see it everyday, yet they fail to recognize it when it's staring them right in the face. They continue to focus on the company, the compensation plan and their ability to sell the business to others. This mindset will keep you from achieving the success that you desire. People are not looking for a sales man, they are looking for someone who can help them. People want solutions to their problem. When you sell them on a business, you are giving them a problem. If you present them with a business, make sure you offer a solution.

5. Cultivate Leadership- Most home business owners focus on selling people on their product and their company. What they fail to realize is people want leadership, someone they can trust. To make the business work, we must do things a certain way. Let's start small. Lets talk about the business owner who is selling hot dogs at the fair.

The time has come, you are rushing in to enjoy their day with the family and sometime throughout the day you will need to eat, drink and relax. As you pass through the gate, you see 2 hot dog carts...a small one on wheels that travels through the fair grounds with only hot dogs to sell, and another one that remains stationed near the entry gate. The difference is, the 2nd vendor has a cooler filled with bottled water and soda and has a stand setup with the condiments of your choice near a set of picnic tables and restrooms near by. While walking past the stationed cart, you smell the hot dogs. Now, if you are a person who likes hot dogs, you'll remember the location of the hot dog stand when it comes time for lunch.

Think about that fo a moment.....

Which hot dog vendor do you believe will make the most money in a single day, the vendor who is wheeling the cart through the crowd with only hot dogs to sell or the vendor stationed at the gate? If you said vendor 1 you are missing the point in a very big way. Vendor 1 is only operating a 211 degrees by offering the opportunity to satisfy a partial need, hunger. However, vendor 2 is going the extra mile, putting in the extra degree of effort by offering a complete package. First, vendor 2 was stationed up wind so the smell of the hot dogs would meet his potential cutomers as they were entering the gate. Then, he positioned himself to receive more customers by offering them the value of satisfying more than just a partial need. He is providing a solution for hunger, taste, thirst and rest & relaxation. He has also positioned himself to receive repeat customers as people are leaving the fair grounds and desire a drink after a long hot afternoon. As for vendor 1, he/she was lost in the crowd and did nothing for the self image of the business.

What I am attempting to get accross to you is this;

When we provide a higher level of service, we are increasing our value to society. As a result, we have a higher customer base, which results in more profits for our business. So in business, our income is a direct reflection of the level of service that we provide and it's no different in the home business industry. No one else is going to rush to your self image. Therefore, it will be necessary for you to take ownership of your business to improve your self image by increasing value to society while stepping up from the crowd. Once you believe in yourself as a leader, have 100% belief in what you are promoting, and are committed to helping people with a high level of service, others will follow and your home business becomes fun.

MARKETING YOUR BUSINESS

So... You now have the right mindset to be in business for yourself, but are unsure as the next step to take. Once we develop the mindset required to be an entrepreneur we must put ourself into the market place. This is a very crucial step in setting up your home business, however most business owners do not understand how to do this effectively. Many people have the belief that they can join a home business opportunity, market the same website that thousands of other online home business owners are using, and have success. Well, I'm here to tell you that it doesn't work that way. This goes back to taking personal responsibility for your results. In other words, how can you stand up from the crowd if you look like the other home business owners that are promoting the same opportunity.

The first step to effectively market on the internet, is to learn the skill of creating your own gateway, or your own webpage. There are several extremely important reasons for developing this skill. The following are just a few....

Relationship Building. People need to understand who they will be working with. They need to know what benefits are available to them when joining your team. They need to know that you are someone they can trust, are committed to their success, and will not abandon them. That being said, it is very important for you to develop the skills necessary to assist them in achieving their goals, and for you to build your confidence in seeing yourself as a leader. Developing your own capture page is a great place to start this process.

Search Engine Marketing. Most replicated websites provided by home business opportunities do not score well with search engine marketing. The reason for this is the relevance of the website to what you are offering. Creating your own capture page allows you to build quality content that is necessary to acheive relevance and receive a good score by the serach engines. Without good relevant content, you will not receive a good score by the search engines and your required cost per click will be high.

Follow up. Creating your own capture page allows you to follow up with your potential customers on an ongoing basis through automation. Simply said, we all have 24 hours in day, it's what you do with those 24 hours that can determine your level of success.

The next step in successful marketing is to understand how to attract your target market. In other words, if people are looking for information on a dog training seminar, they do not want to see information on a home business opportunity. That said, the keywords that you choose for internet marketing need to be careffully selected to ensure your ads are seen by people who are searching for what you have to offer.

Another form of marketing that can be effective is direct mail or newspapers. However, this type of marketing can be very expensive with a poor ROI or Return On Investment if not studied carefully. For example, if you are promoting a high dollar product or service, you would not want to advertise in a newspaper where the average income is less than $30,000 per year. Instead, you would likely have a better ROI if you advertised in areas near a Mercedes dealership.

Marketing can be fun if you can just open your mind to the possibilities that are available to you. Many times, new home business owners only employ advertising methods that have been communicated to them via the company website or from their sponsor. However, marketing & advertising your business is just like everything else. You have to take personal responsibility for the results that you desire and be creative to find out what works best for you and your business.

Here are some ways to send massive traffic to you website, and explode your business...

Find other network marketers who have a HUGE list. In many cases (if they like what you are offering/promoting), they will send out an endorsed solo ad to their list for a fee. Although this can be a very effective and fast way to "build your list", it can cost somewhere in the range of $800.00 -$2500.00 and up depending on who the list owner is and the size of their list. If this is something you are interested in, I can put you in touch with some very powerful people.

Another way to immediately build the size of your list is to work a deal with traffic generation companies. These types of companies have 1000's of home business capture pages working for them around the clock 7 days per week. You can usually work with them on a CPM basis at a reasonable rate. They will mail your ad copy to a list comprised of millions of people who all requested information pertaining to a home based busines. However, you need to keep in mind that your adcopy needs to be effective. The number of leads that you generate will be directly related to the quality of the offer that you provide. This is the way start up company get their message out to a HUGE audience in the shortest period of time possible.

Ezines. Find someone who has a very good content driven ezine that contains some very valuable information to a home business owner. It is likely that the ezine owner has a large list. Join that list, and begin to build a relationship with the owner. I have personally built relationships with some very powerful ezine owners and have had the opportunity to place my ad on their page. This is a great way to get your offer in to lots of high quality targeted individuals.

A HOME BUSINESS SYSTEM

Most home business opportunities have a system in place for the new associate to take advantage of. However, not all systems are created equal. A really good "business system" is key to your long term success. If the system provided does not inhibit duplication, their is no way you can be successful long term and you will always struggle in the ability to sponsor new assocates.

The business system needs to remove the redundant task of providing a company overview, explanation of the products that are marketed and the financial opportunity for the independent business owner, but it doesn't stop there. The business system also needs to cover the ads and the marketing. If the system does not offer these components, then what you are offering to someone is another problem. People don't want problems, they want solutions to their problem. So, in order to achieve success in the home business industry, you need to solve problems for people not give them another one.

If you've been in a home business in the past and had no success, it's likely that it wasn't your fault. It very well could have been the system that the company provided. Another reason could be that the system worked, but you did not stay in the jungle long enough to manifest the results that you were looking to achieve. Success in the home business industry does not come overnight. The only reason that I, and almost every other successful entrepreneur have acheived extraordinary results is because we committed ourselves to our goals and have gone through more failures than those who prematuraly gave up on their dreams.

COMMITTING YOURSELF TO YOUR HOME BUSINESS AND YOUR TEAM

Once you have YOUR home business up and running, commit yourself to your personal goals and to the goals you have for your business. Get real clear on what it is that you want, and stay focused on the end result. Take the necessary actions to achieve those goals. At times you may have to get uncomfortable to achieve the results that you desire If you treat your home business like a hobby, then you will never open your mind to the actions necessary to achieve the results that you desire and business will always be an upstream battle for you. Be true to yourself and to your team. Be committed to giving them a level of service that will assist them in achieving their goals.

Here are some of the reasons for my success.....

Find a mentor. Someone you can trust. Someone who has a business system. Someone who already has the results you are looking for. This has to be someone who is willing to listen to your needs and actually cares about your success. He/she must also have a financial interest in your success.

Then make sure that he has duplication on his team and that there are scores of others on his team who are also having success using the business system..... ask to be introduced to a few of them. You will find that this is where most will come up empty because they are leaving a trail of destruction and not success wherever they go.

Make sure that the products being sold are legitimate stand alone products, products that would sell themselves if on a shelf in a store etc. Most network marketing and direct sales companies out there are built around the compensation plan and NOT a stand alone product. If what you are marketing is NOT a stand alone product, you will have a hard time building residual income and a stable business as most people will not be able to duplicate what you are doing and your attrition will be huge.

One way to tell if the products are viable is to see what percentage of the products sold are retail sales. If people are only buying the products to be able to turn around and sell them to other recruits, beware. This is so critical. Beside who doesn't want to be proud of what they're selling. There are enough legitimate companies marketing legitimate products out there. Find one that feels right to you!

Next you want to make sure the team you are working with has a turnkey marketing system in place that anyone can duplicate. A fool proof system that ANYONE can plug into and get instant results with. If you have to figure out your own lead generation or if the company relies on recruiting family or friends, purchased leads or newspaper advertising, RUN. RUN FAST! If you don't have a reliable way of getting quality prospects in front of what you are offering you cannot be successful at making money long term.

The business system should also replace most of the redundant and boring things that cause most people to fail. Turnkey marketing systems that actually are proven to work are difficult to find. This is usually the weak link.... Look closely.

Make sure that the company has a long term vision and is going to be financially stable as long as you are going to be marketing for it. If the company has bad PR, it's for a reason. Bad PR kills companies quick. Also make sure the company is NOT hiding offshore in the Bahamas or panama somewhere to keep out of reach of the attorney general. This is a key sign of company's true colors.

Find a direct sales company to work with. I have personally never achieved a significant income with MLM or network marketing type internet business models. The attrition is too big and the commissions too small. If you are looking for a great way to make money, you really should consider direct sales.

Find a company where you don't have to do any personal explaining. Make sure there is a team of people in place to do this for you. You should have an entire team of people to support you. I always give my new people a spreadsheet with several leaders contact information on it to make sure there is lot's of support accessible in case I can't be reached.

Learn to trust your gut. If you feel good about what you're doing. Great pursue it with everything you have. If you are leery and can't get straight answers about products, services or systems, RUN! They aren't telling you the whole story and only want your money.

You should be able to tell very easily if someone really does care about building a long term successful relationship with you or if he/she is just trying to sell you something. There are hundreds of internet business scams out there. Beware. Many are cloaked in innocence and opportunity. Look closely.

Finally, is what you are about to do something you can be passionate about and would you be willing and eager to share it with others....? If not, how can you be successful if you lack the self confidence and pride in what you are doing. Do something meaningful and make what you do about "helping others". Be proud and passionate and if you are using the right system, it will be impossible to fail.
